“Hi, I’m Melina. I am a mother, a forever student, a nature lover, an artist, and an explorer of sorts. I am always striving to learn more about myself, others, our Mother Earth, and the universe we all embody and inhabit. I have been a life long athlete playing tennis for most of my life at a highly competitive level. I didn’t find intentional movement in the form of yoga and pilates until my teen years. I remember being so mesmerized by the intention and the mind/body connection I experienced in my first ‘actual’ yoga class at 13. I was hooked and it became a part of my day to day routine, but as life would have it I got busy. I not only lost touch with my practice and my physicality after experiencing some traumatic events, chronic illness, and just life in general. 

I met my now husband in Savannah and we became young parents while living in Ann Arbor. then we moved to Lake Wylie where we lived for several years, then from there to Delaware, and now Belmont, where we are so happy to be and plan to stay. Amidst all of the craziness I birthed two amazing children, both pregnancy/delivery experiences were incredibly different and life altering in their own way. After my second and last child, I was determined to again find comfort in my body which had become so foreign to me. 

While living in Delaware, the opportunity to learn mat and reformer Pilates presented itself, so I took the leap to learn something new and became an instructor in 2024. Pilates helped me come back into my body by fostering an awareness of my movements in a restorative and rehabilitative way. It Slowly helped me becoming more aware of this new vehicle my soul found itself in and truly helped me find security and strength in my physicality after pregnancy and postpartum changed everything. I hope I can hold space for that kind of intentionality and personal expansion in each of my classes, as well as, some community building and laughs along the way. After all we’re here together for a good time, not a long time. Can’t wait to see you in the studio and around town!
